Rakul Preet Singh made her debut in the 2009 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film ‘Gilli’ directed by Raghav Loki. Following her debut, she went on to appear in films like ‘Keratam’ (2011), ‘Yuvan’ (2011), ‘Thadaiyara Thaakka’ (2012), and ‘Puthagam’ (2013). In 2013, she starred as ‘Prarthana’ in the Merlapaka Gandhi-directed Indian Telugu-language adventure comedy film ‘Venkatadri Express.’ The film received mostly positive reviews from critics. Singh was also nominated for the ‘Filmfare Awards South’ for her performance in the film. In 2014, she made her Bollywood debut in the Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age romance film ‘Yaariyan’ directed by Divya Khosla Kumar. The film, despite being panned by critics, was a box office success. That same year, Singh also became a recipient of the ‘CineMAA Award’ for his performance as ‘Chandrakala/Chandu’ in the Sriwass-directed Indian Telugu-language action comedy film, ‘Loukyam.’ The film opened to a positive critical reception and was a financial success. Singh was last seen in the Ajay Devgan-directed 2022 Indian Hindi-language thriller film ‘Runway 34’ where she played the role of ‘First Officer Tanya Albuquerque.’ The film received positive to mixed reviews from critics. She is all set to appear in the upcoming Indian Hindi-language social drama film ‘Doctor G.’ She will also be seen in the upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy film ‘Thank God.’
