Nicholas Parsons is an English actor, television and radio personality. He is best known for hosting TV shows, such as ‘Just a Minute’ (1967-present) and ‘Sale of the Century’ (1971-83). He started his entertainment career as an impersonator in a radio show and began his professional acting career after the First World War. He made his film debut in ‘Master of Bankdam’ in 1947. Some of his popular film appearances came in ‘Eyewitness’ (1956), ‘Brothers in Law’ (1957), ‘Happy is the Bride’ (1958), ‘The Wrong Box’ (1966), and ‘Spy Story’ (1976). Some of his least successful films are ‘Seaside Swingers’ (1964), ‘The Ghosts Goes Gear’ (1966), and ‘Lady Godiva’ (2008). He made his first known TV appearance in ‘BBC Sunday-Night Theatre,’ in 1950. Some of his other popular TV appearances came in ‘The Eric Barker Half-Hour’ (1951-53), ‘Here and Now’ (1955-56), ‘The Arthur Haynes Show’ (1957-65), and ‘The Ugliest Girl in Town’ (1968-69). Â
