English singer-songwriter and actress, Melanie Blatt rose to fame in the late 1990s as part of the girl band All Saints. The band, which had Shaznay Lewis, Natalie Appleton and Nicole Appleton as its other members, released two multi-platinum albums and won two ‘BRIT Awards’. She also appeared in several music videos of their singles. These include 'I Know Where It's At', 'Never Ever' (both 1997), ‘Under the Bridge’, ‘Lady Marmalade’, ‘Bootie Call’, ‘War of Nerves’ (all 1998), ‘Pure Shores’, ‘Black Coffee’ (both 2000) and ‘All Hooked Up’ (2001). Meanwhile, in 2000, she made her acting debut with the black comedy crime film ‘Honest’ in which she played the role of Jo Chase. The following year, she had a minor part in the independent British film ‘Dog Eat Dog’.
After the group disbanded in 2001, Melanie Blatt began her solo career as a singer and released two singles ‘Do Me Wrong’ (2003) and ‘See Me’ (2005). The group got together again in 2006 and released their third studio album titled ‘Studio 1’. After the groups’ split one more time in 2009, they came together again in 2014 and have since then released two more studio albums ‘Red Flag’ (2016) and ‘Testament’ (2018).
Simultaneously, Melanie Blatt continued her career in television and presented few episodes of the music interview show ‘The Hot Desk’ (2007-2009) and appeared as herself in an episode of the 4th season of Chef Gordon Ramsay starrer cookery show ‘The F Word’ (2008). Additionally, she was also seen as herself in 4 episodes of the talk show ‘Angela and Friends’ (2009-2010) and 5 episodes of ITV2's spin-off show ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!’ (2010). She also became the backstage host for the TV specials ‘The BRITs Encore’ and ‘The BRITs Red Carpet’ in both 2009 and 2010.
In 2013, she became the judge for the first season of the television reality music competition, ‘The X Factor’ (New Zealand version). She continued as one of the judges of the show in the second season too, which aired in 2015. In 2022, Melanie Blatt participated as a contestant in the 17th season of the competitive cooking reality show ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ and reached the finals of the show. The same year, she also appeared as herself in the comedy panel game show ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’.
