Kim Sae-ron made her screen debut in the 2009 film ‘A Brand New Life.’ written and directed by Ounie Lecomte. The film was warmly received by critics and grossed over US$167,776 at the box office. Sae-ron also won the ‘Buil Film Award’ for her performance in the film.
In 2010, she starred as ‘Jung So-mi’ in the South Korean action thriller film ‘The Man from Nowhere,’ directed by Lee Jeong-beom. The film earned wide praise from critics and grossed over US$43 million at the box office. Sae-ron became a recipient of the ‘Korean Film Award’ and the ‘Max Movie Award’ for her portrayal of ‘Jung So-mi’ in the film.
In 2011, she made her first television appearance in the South Korean series ‘Listen to My Heart,’ directed by Kim Sang-ho. The show went off-air after airing 30 episodes. She next starred in films and television shows like ‘I Am a Dad’ (2011), ‘Fashion King’ (2012), ‘The Neighbor’ (2013), ‘The Queen's Classroom’ (2013), and ‘Hi! School: Love On’ (2014). She portrayed ‘Sun Do-hee’ in the 2014 July Jung-directed South Korean drama film ‘A Girl at My Door.’ Sae-ron won several award nominations, including the Buil Film Award nomination, for her performance in the film. She next starred in films and television shows such as ‘Manhole’ (2014), ‘Snowy Road’ (2015), ‘Glamorous Temptation’ (2015), ‘Secret Healer’ (2016), ‘The Great Actor’ (2016), ‘Snowy Road’ (2017), ‘The Villagers’ (2018), ‘Leverage’ (2019), and ‘Nobody Knows’ (2020). She was last seen playing the role of ‘Sossang’ in the South Korean anthology series ‘KBS Drama Special’ in 2021.
