Julia Montes is a Filipino actress of German descent who began her career as a child artist and starred in the sketch-comedy show, 'Goin' Bulilit.’ She gained widespread attention for her breakthrough role as the mean and spoiled Clara del Valle in the remake of television drama 'Mara Clara' (2010–11). She made her film debut in the family drama, 'Way Back Home' (2011).
She won the 'Princess of Philippine Television Award' for appearing as Katerina Alcantara in the critically acclaimed romantic drama series 'Walang Hanggan' in 2012. In 2013, she starred as Sarah Beltran in the melodrama series, 'Muling Buksan Ang Puso.’ Two of her best roles: Mona Hidalgo in the period drama 'Ikaw Lamang' (2014); and twin sisters in the melodrama series, 'Doble Kara' (2015–17) – each earned her a 'Gawad Tanglaw Award' and a nomination for the 'PMPC Star Award.
