Joe Swash made his screen debut in the 1996 fantasy family film ‘The Adventures of Pinocchio’ directed by Steve Barron. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics and failed to perform at the box office. He next appeared in the British television drama program ‘London's Burning’ in 2000. In 2002, he starred in the British crime drama film ‘Shooters’ directed by Colin Teague and Glenn Durfort. The following year, he joined the cast of the British soap opera ‘EastEnders’ created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland. He played the role of ‘Mickey Miller’ and remained a part of the show until 2008. However, he made a brief return to the soap opera in 2011. In 2008, he starred in the 8th season of the British survival reality television show, ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’ He stayed on the show for 21 days and was declared the winner of the season. That same year, he became a part of the British children's television game show ‘Gimme a Break’ as a co-presenter. The show ran for 3 seasons and went off-air in 2011. In 2009, he became a part of ‘I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp,’ the companion series to the survival reality television show, ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’ Swash starred as a co-presenter and remained a part of the show until 2018. He next appeared in television shows like ‘What Do Kids Know?’ (2010), ‘Minute to Win It’ (2011), ‘Driving Academy’ (2011–2014), ‘Fake Reaction’ (2013–2014), ‘Celebrity Deal or No Deal’ (2014), ‘The Jump’ (2016), and ‘Dancing on Ice’ (2020). In 2020, he joined the voice cast of the British children's television series ‘Thomas & Friends’ created by Rev. W. Awdry. He voiced ‘Sonny’ and remained on the show until it went off-air in 2021.
