Gong Yoo started as a video jockey and the television series ‘School 4’ marked his acting debut. He followed this by playing several supporting roles in movies and dramas. His first lead role, however, came in ‘Hello My Teacher,’ the South Korean television series. Yoo’s breakthrough came with ‘Coffee Prince,’ the television series which also earned him global recognition. In 2008, he enrolled for the mandatory service which ended in 2009. He made his comeback with ‘Finding Mr. Destiny,’ the romantic-comedy which was a hit. Some of his other popular and notable works include ‘A Man and A Woman,’ ‘The Age of Shadows,’ ‘Like a Dragon,’ ‘She’s on Duty,’ ‘Train to Busan,’ ‘Silenced,’ ‘Yakuza,’ ‘The Suspect,’ and ‘S Diary,’ besides various others.
