Emma Walton Hamilton began her career as an actress in 1983 and played the role of Angry Hooker in the comedy film ‘Curse of the Pink Panther’. Thereafter, she appeared in more film roles. These include Maude's Nurse in ‘Micki + Maude’ (1984), First Extra in ‘A Fine Mess’ (1986), Kate Fairchild in ‘That's Life!’ (1986), Muggette #1 in ‘Blind Date’ (1987) and Fur Protestor in ‘Switch’ (1991). She also played the roles of Lenore Cassidy in a couple of episodes of TV series ‘As the World Turns’ (1988) and Natasha's Sister in an episode of another TV series 'The Bill' (1990).
Emma Walton Hamilton has also worked as a voiceover artist and has lent her voice in several audiobooks. These include Gitty Daneshvari’s 'School of Fear', Patrick McDonnell’s 'Me…Jane', Nancy Tafuri’s 'All Kinds of Kisses', 'Julie Andrews’ Collection of Poems, Songs and Lullabies’ and ‘Julie Andrews Treasury for All Seasons: Poems and Songs to Celebrate the Year’. Her work in ‘Julie Andrews’ Collection of Poems, Songs and Lullabies’ won her the 2011 ‘Grammy Award’ for Best Spoken Word Album for Children.
In 2017, she created and executive produced an educational pre-school television series ‘Julie's Greenroom’ starring her mother, Julie Andrews. The 13 episodes show, which premiered on Netflix, has won her two ‘Daytime Emmy Awards’ nominations in the category of Outstanding Writing in a Children's, Pre-School Children's or Family Viewing Program and Outstanding Preschool Children's Series. In 2020, once again together with her mother Julie Andrews, Emma Walton Hamilton started a podcast series ‘Julie's Library’ in which they read their favourite children's books.
