Alvaro Morte made his screen debut as ‘Buzo/Bombero’ in the Spanish television series ‘Hospital Central’ in 2002. He went on to make his silver screen debut in the 2007 Spanish film ‘Lola (la película)’ directed by Miguel Hermoso. That same year, he also became a part of the crime thriller television series ‘Planta 25.’ He played the role of ‘Ray’ and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2008. The series aired 48 episodes in a span of 3 seasons (5 parts) before going off-air in 2021. Morte also won several awards, including the ‘Platino Award’ and the ‘Actors and Actresses Union Award,’ for his portrayal of ‘Sergio Marquina/ El Profesor’ in the show. He next starred as ‘David Ortiz’ in the 2018 Spanish mystery-drama film ‘Mirage’ directed by Oriol Paulo. The film received a positive response from critics and holds a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That same year, he also voiced ‘Gwangi’ (European Spanish dub) in the Karey Kirkpatrick-directed American computer-animated musical comedy film, ‘Smallfoot.’ The film opened to a positive reception and grossed over $214 million on a budget of $80 million. He was next seen in television series like ‘El embarcadero’ (2019-2020), ‘El último show’ (2020), ‘The Head’ (2020), and ‘The Wheel of Time’ (2021). Morte was last seen in the 2022 Spanish historical drama and adventure television miniseries ‘Boundless’ where he portrayed ‘Juan Sebastián Elcano.’
