The film was lauded by critics and grossed over $657.9 million on a budget of $165 million. In 2015, he starred as ‘Anders Holm’ in the Danish war drama film ‘A War’ directed by Tobias Lindholm. The film saw critical acclaim upon release and received a 91% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2016, he joined the main cast of the historical drama television series ‘Vikings’ created by Michael Hirst. He played the role of ‘Ivar the Boneless’ and remained a part of the series until it went off-air in 2020. He next voiced ‘Eret’ (Danish dub) in the 2019 American computer-animated action-fantasy film ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ directed by Dean DeBlois. The film earned wide praise from critics and performed well at the box office, grossing over $525.7 million on a budget of $129 million. He was last seen in the 2021 war drama film ‘The Bombardment’ directed by Ole Bornedal.
