Famous American singer, actress and model, Aaliyah, enlisted by Billboard as 27th most successful R&B artist of all time, started her musical pursuits as a child. Her first studio album ‘Age Ain't Nothing but a Number’ (1994) received double platinum certification from RIAA. The ensuing years saw her coming up with two other albums ‘One in a Million’ (1996) which also garnered double platinum certification from RIAA, and ‘Aaliyah’ (2001). She made her film debut with ‘Romeo Must Die’ (2000) which was followed by ‘Queen of the Damned’ that released posthumously in 2002.
Epithet as "Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop", Aaliyah achieved several feats as singer. The song ‘Try Again’ that she contributed to soundtrack of ‘Romeo Must Die’ climbed atop Billboard Hot 100 solely on airplay thus marking her as first artist in history of Billboard to achieve such feat. It also fetched her Grammy Award nomination. Considered to have aided in redefining contemporary R&B, pop and hip hop, Aaliyah continues to rein hearts with several commercially successful posthumous releases.
