All Harry Potter Movies Ranked

In this 8th and final movie in the Harry Potter film series, Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their search for the other Horcruxes - Lord Voldemort's secret to immortality – in an attempt to destroy him for forever. Much is at stake as the epic battle rages out at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Beginning his third year of study at Hogwarts, Harry Potter learns that Sirius Black, dangerous murderer and supporter of the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, has escaped from Azkaban Prison. Presuming that he would target Harry, foul soulless creatures called dementors guard the gates of the school as new teacher Professor Lupin teaches him how to defend against dementors.

The movie begins with Voldemort's followers causing mayhem at the Quidditch World Cup. Later, as Harry Potter returns to complete his fourth year at the Hogwarts, he is unexpectedly selected by the Goblet of Fire to compete in The Triwizard Tournament. Harry now has to deal with a frightening maze, hostile sea creatures, dragons and ultimately a dark wizard.

Harry Potter, an eleven-year-old orphan leading a dreary life with his aunt's family, learns that he is the child of two powerful wizards after he is invited into Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, the mirth of making new friends like half-giant Hagrid and classmates Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger is soon marred by facing his nemesis, Voldemort.

In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter finds a book formerly belonging to the mysterious Half-Blood Prince, from which he learns to make good potions, as well as a few dark spells. He is also being trained by Dumbledore for his eventual battle with Voldemort as Hogwarts is being infiltrated by Death Eaters, the dark lord's followers.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s fifth book of the Harry Potter series, the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix depicts the boy wizard’s journey in his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It also marks the debut of the much-hated Dolores Umbridge and the resurrection of Voldemort. 

In this second installment in the Harry Potter film series, Harry, Ron and Hermione are second year students at Hogwarts. Things turn dangerous at the school as denizens become scared of a lurking monster and a blood writing on the wall saying that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. The trio now have to uncover the truth and find the culprit.

Dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald, escapes from captivity while being transferred to London and hatches a sinister plan to gain control over Muggles, assisted by his true-blood followers and the young obscurial Credence Barebone. Meanwhile, Professor Albus Dumbledore, convinces his former student, self-proclaimed magizoologist Newt Scamander, to travel to Paris to save Credence from the evil schemes of Grindelwald.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s final novel of the ‘Harry Potter’ series, it is the first of the two-part finale of the movie series. The film follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they hunt for Horcruxes after Dumbledore’s death, while escaping Death Eaters, to destroy Lord Voldemort once and for all.  

Wizard and magizoologist, Newt Scamander reaches New York with a suitcase full of magical creatures. Unfortunately, some of the creatures escape and he is accused of conspiring with the notorious dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald. Newt and Jacob, along with auror Tina and her sister Queenie now have to find the escaped creatures and set things right.
