Radhika Apte started her career as a theatre artist and went on to act in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and English films. Her early experience with theatre and minor roles in films like āGho Mala Asala Hawaā (2009) in Mumbai was not encouraging. She returned to Mumbai after a brief stint in London and had a better experience with movies like āShor in the Cityā (2011) and āDhoniā (2012). Her regional language movies include āRupkatha Noyā (2013) in Bengali and the Tamil film āLai Bhaariā (2014) that became the highest grossing Tamil film of all time. She appeared in the Malayalam film āHaramā and Telugu film āLionā in 2015. She received positive reviews for her role as the wife of superstar Rajinikanth in the gangster drama movie āKabaliā (2016). She had minor roles in āBadlapurā and āHunterrā which turned out to be huge commercial successes during the same period. Her highest rated performances are as Sophie in āAndhadhunā and Gayatri in āPad Manā in 2018. Her upcoming movies include āThe Fieldā in Hindi and āUlaā in Tamil.
