Louis C.K. was first seen in the American late-night talk show ‘Late Night with Conan O'Brien’ in 1993. He starred in 291 episodes and remained a part of the show until 1994. C.K. was also one of the writers of ‘Late Night with Conan O'Brien.’ In 1995, he joined the American late-night talk show ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ as a writer. He wrote 11 episodes of the show. He next appeared in television series and shows like ‘Saturday Night Live’ (1995), ‘Howie Mandel's Sunny Skies’ (1995), ‘The Dana Carvey Show’ (1996), ‘HBO Comedy Half-Hour’ (1996), ‘Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist’ (1996-2002), and ‘Oddville, MTV’ (1997). After directing and writing several short films such as ‘Ice Cream’ (1993), ‘The Legend of Willie Brown’ (1995), ‘The Letter V’ (1995), and ‘Highjacker’ (1995), C.K. wrote and directed the 1998 American absurdist comedy film ‘Tomorrow Night.’ The film received a mixed response from critics. In 2001, he directed the American comedy film ‘Pootie Tang’ and was also one of its writers along with Bruno Cavecchi. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics and tanked at the box office. However, the ‘Pootie Tang’ gained a cult status in later years. He went on to star in films like ‘London’ (2005), ‘Diminished Capacity’ (2008), ‘Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins’ (2008), ‘Role Models’ (2008), and ‘The Invention of Lying’ (2009). In 2010, he launched the comedy-drama television series ‘Louie’ where he also served as the director. The series ran for 5 seasons and aired its final episode in 2015. C.K. also received 3 Primetime Emmy Awards for his performance on the show.Â
He next starred in films like ‘Blue Jasmine’ (2013), ‘American Hustle’ (2013), ‘The Angriest Man in Brooklyn’ (2014), ‘Trumbo’ (2015), and ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ (2016).
