Dario Argento is an Italian director, writer and producer. After contributing as an actor and director to 'Scusi, lei è favorevole o contrario' (1966), he served as writer for the films 'Commandos' (1968), 'C'era una volta il West' (1968), 'Metti, una sera a cena' (1969) and 'La legione dei dannati' (1969).
His directorial debut came with 'L'uccello dalle piume di cristallo' (1970) which was a major hit in Italy. This was followed by the successful films 'Il gatto a nove code' (1971) and '4 mosche di velluto grigio' (1971). Till date, Argento has directed and wrote many hit movies including 'Così sia' (1972), 'Profondo rosso' (1975), 'Suspiria' (1977), 'Zombi' (1978), 'Opera' (1987), 'La Sindrome di Stendhal' (1996), 'Non ho sonno' (2001), 'La Terza madre' (2007). The list of his flop films include 'C'era una volta il West' (1968), 'Due occhi diabolici' (1990) and 'Innocent Blood' (1992).
As a television writer and director, Argento has contributed to the dramas 'Door into Darkness' (1973), 'Ti piace Hitchcock' (2005) and 'Masters of Horror' (2005-2006).
